I spent this past week in Perth with mixed emotions. While I’m excited about making such a big change in lifestyle, I will really miss my family and friends. The urge to see the world and spread my wings has been itch I’ve needed to scratch for years and I’m finally about to do something about it. I don’t know how long I’ll be away or whether I’ll come back but I’ve realised that all the reasons why I’m leaving Perth are the same reasons why I love it.
My last weekend in Perth was amazing. My parents threw me a leaving party complete with one of my Dad’s famous speeches, then the girls and I headed out to a club where I got a chance to see a lot of people I haven’t seen in years.
What makes this move just that much harder is to walk away from is all the wonderful friends I have made at work. I’m not sure I’ll ever come across such a wonderful group of colleagues again.
On my second last weekend in Perth, the amazing women I work with organised a leaving party river cruise for me. It was a fantastic and emotional night and I will never forget it.
There were a few tears at the airport when saying goodbye to my parents but lucky I had my sister and Jess travelling with me to Singapore. It would have been even harder if I had to say goodbye to them as well.
